At Matisse Capital, we believe in our responsibility to give back to the community we serve. Below is a list of some of the organizations and events we’ve recently supported:

Financial Beginnings

Financial Beginnings is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that teaches individuals how to play an active role in their financial well-being. Learning personal finance concepts allows individuals to develop knowledge that affords them greater available life opportunities such as higher education, home ownership, and a secure retirement. Financial Beginnings is committed to developing effective and accessible financial education programming for both youth and adults.

Providence Festival of Trees | Providence Children’s Health Foundation

The Providence Festival of Trees in Portland benefits Providence Children’s Health. Providence is a leader in children’s health care in Oregon, providing care for tens of thousands of children – newborn to teenagers – and their families each year. One quarter of all children in the state begin their lives in a Providence hospital. That is 9,500 babies annually!

Camp Fire Columbia

Young people want to shape the world. Camp Fire provides them with the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are. While Camp Fire has historically been synonymous with outdoor learning and providing opportunities for women, today’s Camp Fire is a multi-faceted agency that serves all kids through a diverse array of programs. Camp Fire has long served the communities of Oregon and southwest Washington by providing high-quality youth development programming for nearly a century.

Fora Health

Fora Health provides treatment, care, and advocacy for all who are affected by substance use disorder. Formerly De Paul Treatment Centers, Fora Health builds on nearly five decades of experience and excellence in delivering individualized care plans to support people and families in recovery.

Casper College Foundation

The Casper College Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which provides supplemental resources to assist Casper College in fulfilling its mission. The foundation raises funds in collaboration with the community, generous donors, faculty, and staff. Foundation funds provide monetary support for scholarships, facilities, programs, and college initiatives to provide an outstanding learning environment for the students who attend Casper College.

The Casper College Foundation and Alumni Association is a partnership that is invested in instilling pride in the legacy of Casper College and promoting the academic excellence that has been a vehicle for students since 1945.

Children’s Cancer Association

Children’s Cancer Association delivers programs to help young patients find their Joy—one song, one friendship, and one breath of ocean air at a time. Because when a child experiences Joy, their emotional well-being is positively impacted. Simply put: Joy makes sick kids feel better.

Northwest Children’s Outreach

Northwest Children’s Outreach (NCO) is an all-volunteer group, desiring to love those in need by providing for their most basic needs. NCO functions as a collection and distribution center, collecting resources for children and then distributing goods to local care providers who meet directly with and prescreen the children.

Union Gospel Mission

Union Gospel Mission provides more than 260,000 meals a year to the homeless and people in need. In addition to meals, the Mission provides food boxes, a day room with coffee and snacks, clothing, hygiene items, referral services and cold weather shelter to the homeless.

Western Golf Association Evans Scholars Foundation

As the nation's largest scholarship program for caddies, the Evans Scholars Foundation aims to provide full tuition and college scholarships to caddies with limited financial means. The program has helped thousands of hardworking young men and women get to college, addresses the barriers to college graduation faced by students, and prepares them for a lifetime of success.

The YMCA of Natrona County

The YMCA of Natrona County seeks to incorporate its principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, it works side-by-side with its neighbors to address critical community needs that help kids develop into smart, resilient adults, for people to improve their health and build a sense of community, and for its most vulnerable young people to get the care and support they need. The Y provides a variety of programs that support educational achievement, health & wellness, childcare, summer day camp, water safety, veterans, and families.

Chilkat Valley Community Foundation

In 2020, the Chilkat Valley of Alaska was devastated by a storm that led to the loss of life, property, and infrastructure in the Haines and Klukwan communities. The CVCF Emergency Response Fund was established to support both short-term emergency response and long-term recovery.

First Tee Greater Portland

First Tee impacts the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. The organization started as a way to bring an affordable junior golf program to youth and communities that did not have them. But what they soon discovered was that blending the rules of the game with life and leadership skills, kids and teens didn’t just learn how to putt – they were learning important values. Today, First Tee delivers programs in all 50 states and select international locations.

LtP Foundation

A child dealing with cancer can take a toll on a family in numerous ways: physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially. The LtP Foundation’s goal is to lend a helping hand and assist in alleviating the stress for these families in any way it can.

Gales Creek Camp Foundation

Gales Creek Camp Foundation is dedicated to providing camp experiences for children, youth and families directly affected by type 1 diabetes. Through traditional and innovative camp programs designed around fun, the organization is committed to nurturing a positive attitude toward life and fostering the transition toward independence, integrating diabetes management and self-care skills with social and life skills.

Little League®

Little League® Baseball and Softball is played in approximately 6,500 communities across more than 80 countries around the world, but regardless of where they are played, each of them share the same core mission. Little League believes in the power of youth baseball and softball to teach life lessons that build stronger individuals and communities.

Right Now for Alex Agan | Help Hope Live

Alex Agan’s life took a dramatic turn in November 2015, when a life changing injury left him as a quadriplegic. Right Now for Alex Agan was established to help fundraise for Alex’s ongoing medical and living expenses. Help Hope Live is a tax-deductible way to fund Alex’s unmet medical and equipment expenses that are not covered by insurance or government programs.

OHSU Foundation | Doernbecher Children’s Hospital

As Oregon’s academic medical center, Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) takes on the toughest challenges in medicine to transform human health. Philanthropic investment supports education, medical research, and patient care to improve the health and well-being of all Oregonians. The OHSU Foundation exists to secure private philanthropic support to advance the missions of OHSU and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, and to invest and manage gifts responsibly to honor donors’ wishes.

Portland State University Foundation

Established in 1963, the Portland State University (PSU) Foundation raises philanthropic gifts, invests them responsibly, and stewards them in accordance with donors’ wishes. The PSU Foundation is responsible for raising and managing private resources to support the mission and priorities of the university and contributes to institutional excellence. The PSU Foundation’s mission is to advance the university through relationships, community connections, and philanthropy, while fostering an engaged, diverse, and generous community.

Community of Hope

Community of Hope exists to empower homeless single-parent families to cultivate hope, healing, and stability while living in a safe, supportive environment. The organization began as a collaborative effort by the Church in North Portland in the spring of 2012 and has since grown to have the capacity to serve up to eight families at a time. Community of Hope’s program is 100% referral based with no maintained wait lists.
