Personal Choice Retirement Account

Take control of your retirement plan and invest with the freedom of a brokerage account.

What is a PCRA?

A PCRA is a self-directed brokerage account within your employer-sponsored retirement plan. With one, you can invest in a wide range of investments in addition to the choices usually offered by retirement plans.

How it works:

  1. Your plan provider determines whether a PCRA is available as part of your retirement plan.
  2. Your employer or your plan's financial advisor determines what mix of mutual funds and other investments are made available to your PCRA as part of your retirement plan.
  3. You open a PCRA account with Matisse.
  4. You decide how much money to transfer from your retirement plan into your PCRA.
  5. You invest your PCRA assets in investments of your choice from the available assets determined by your retirement plan.
