The 2021 Corporate Philanthropy Awards hosted by the Portland Business Journal took place virtually yesterday, October 7th, 2021. Official rankings were released today, and we are honored to be ranked in top 5 for most charitable companies in the small size company category.
The Corporate Philanthropy Awards are hosted annually in Portland and serve as a celebration of community service and corporate giving. Companies from varying industries are recognized in four separate categories (based on annual revenue), and we believe the event displays exemplary philanthropic practices and helps further develop innovative and unique partnerships between companies and nonprofits in Oregon & S.W. Matisse Capital is included in the Portland Business Journal’s 2021 list for Corporate Philanthropy (for more information about the list, click here). Matisse is ranked #5 out of the 34 companies who made the list in the small size company category (under $10 million annual revenue). The results of this survey are based on a questionnaire sent by the Portland Business Journal to firm representatives, and not independently verified. To participate in the survey, a company must be based in Oregon or Clark County, Washington. The criteria for the survey measured a company’s 2020 cash contributions to Oregon and S.W. Washington nonprofits (ranked from largest to smallest), and is current as of December 31, 2020. It is unknown how many companies were contacted to participate in the survey, and what the response rate was. This ranking is in no way an assessment or endorsement of Matisse’s performance as an investment adviser.
