Our managing partner, Nik joined Matisse Capital in 2013 and is responsible for handling our day-to-day operations while also guiding our firm’s strategic direction. Nik oversees our firm’s financial activities, personnel, and marketing efforts; and provides key insight that helps drive our management team’s essential business decisions. He serves as our Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and oversees our firm’s compliance program. Nik also provides direct support and managerial oversight to our client operations, business development, and portfolio management, and is a member of our firm’s investment and management committees.
Nik completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Oregon in 2013. He was part of a select cohort admitted into the Lundquist College of Business Honors Program and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance, with Departmental Honors. Nik later completed his graduate studies with Creighton University in 2021, a program he pursued while continuing to work full-time at Matisse. He earned the degrees of Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Investment Management and Financial Analysis (MIMFA). Creighton’s MIMFA program is one of a small number of graduate programs in the CFA Institute’s University Affiliation Program. Nik holds a Series 65 license and is registered as an Investment Advisor Representative in the State of Oregon.
