Bryn is the founder and president of Matisse Capital, and has more than 40 years of investment industry experience, including deep roots on the investment advisory side with institutional investors, family offices, foundations, and individuals. Bryn advises select retirement plans, nonprofits, and high net worth individuals while managing Matisse Capital’s strategic vision and growth. He oversees our firm’s investment research and is the head of our investment committee. Bryn led the launch of our first mutual fund offering in 2012 and our second mutual fund offering in 2020.
Prior to founding Matisse Capital, Bryn was senior vice president, managing partner, and perennial Chairman’s Club member at Dain Bosworth, Inc. (a former NYSE company), where he worked for 10 years. Bryn started his investment career in 1981 at Smith Barney Harris Upham in Seattle. He later moved to Boetcher & Co. and became a limited partner prior to the firm’s acquisition by Kemper. A native Oregonian, Bryn attended the University of Oregon and received a Bachelor of Science in Finance in 1980. Bryn is registered as an Investment Advisor Representative in the State of Oregon.
In addition to his role at Matisse Capital, Bryn also serves on the board of Camp Fire Columbia, a local youth development nonprofit serving Clackamas, Multnomah, and Yamhill counties in Oregon.
